Fourth Industrial Revolution and SMEs
“Threats and Opportunities”. 

We will be hosting a webinar on 1 December 2021 to discuss and engage on the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and SMEs: threats and opportunities. We will be in discussion with Africa's leading expert and thinker on the subject, Professor Marwala, the vice chancellor of the University of Johannesburg.

Professor Marwala is an accomplished scholar with multi-disciplinary research interests that include the theory and application of artificial intelligence to engineering, computer science, finance, social science and medicine.   He has an extensive track record in human capacity development and has published 23 books in artificial intelligence. Prior to his well-deserved appointment as vice chancellor of the University of Johannesburg, he was the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Internationalisation and Executive Dean of Engineering and the Built Environment at the university. He also serves as the Deputy Chairperson of South Africa's Presidential Commission on 4IR.
